About Us

Our general aim at Orangefield is to provide a secure, caring, happy and
stimulating environment in which the potential of every child may be realised.

All pupils should wear the regulation uniform which consists of:

Boys
White or grey shirt
Grey trousers
Green jumper
School tie
Grey socks

Girls
White blouse
Green pinafore or skirt
Green gingham frock as a summer alternative
Green jumper
School tie
White socks or green tights

Sweatshirts are an acceptable alternative to the green pullover and are available from school. These are provided to the school only from Gull leisurewear. All children should have a pair of gym shoes or soft shoes for wearing in PE lessons. Gym shoes with elasticated tops are best for young children but it is hoped that parents will teach children to tie shoe laces. A drawstring bag could be provided for carrying shoes.

Gull Leisurewear is the stockist for the main part of the school uniform and parents will be made aware of appropriate dates when purchases of sweatshirts, cardigans, ties etc can be made.

Morning School
8.55 am to 12.15 pm

Afternoon School
12.55 pm to 1.55 pm (P1 - P3) 12.55 pm to 2.55 pm (P4 - P7)

Primary 1 children finish morning school slightly earlier, to allow them more time to cope with school dinners and packed lunches and to provide them with the additional help which they need

There is a mid morning break 10.30 - 10.45am and in fine weather children are able to enjoy a brief playtime in their respective playgrounds.

Please note that children are not permitted into school grounds before 8.45 am since we cannot guarantee supervision prior to this time. Children are expected to be in their playgrounds ready to come in when the bell rings at 8.55 am. On wet mornings of course children may go directly to their classrooms, but again preferably not before 8.45am since there will be no supervision before the teacher arrives in the room at 8.45am.

Snack Bar
As part of our Healthy Eating programme the school operates a Snack Bar at breaktime on a Tuesday and Thursday for pupils from P4 - P7. Pupils can purchase a selection of healthy eating options along with some milk.

Coffee Bar
Our new buildings have allowed the school to provide a coffee bar/tearoom for parents. This operates each afternoon from 1:40pm - 2:50pm and enables parents to socialise and wait in comfort for their children to be dismissed.
