LEARNING SUPPORT/ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
At Orangefield we recognise that early intervention and close monitoring is key to identifying children who are experiencing difficulties.
We work with children from an early age to define strengths and weaknesses and put the appropriate support in place. We recognise that children have different abilities and learn at different rates.
Individual Education Plans are devised to support pupils through achievable, yet challenging targets. These are prepared with input from teachers and the pupils themselves and agreed by parents.
Our Learning Support team works, where necessary, in close collaboration with a variety of outside agencies to best meet the needs of our pupils. These include Oakwood Advisory Service, Harberton Outreach for Learning and Behaviour, Cids Belfast Education & Library Board Curriculum Support and the Education Psychology Service.
