Sport's Day
We had a super day! Well done to everyone for taking part!
Pirate Fun Day!
Captain Platt and Captain Williamson were joined by two super crews on Friday 27th May!
Here they are below taking time to pose for a photo on board our pirate ship!
We had a busy morning decorating 'treasure island' biscuits, making maps, making pirates and decorating a photo frame for our crew photo! After all that hard work we were ready for some special pirate party food!
Then we had a special visitor. Captain Blackbeard sent his parrot with a mission for us! He needed a good crew of pirates to help to find his lost treasure! We had to follow his clues and search around the school grounds until we found it!
We would like to say thank you to everyone for all the effort put into the costumes and to the parents who came in to help us!
Here are some photos of us having fun!!
Outdoor Play
P1 are now doing outdoor structured play once a week on a Friday morning. We have lots of activities to explore including a picnic role play area, dinosaurs, bug hunts, buried treasure, teddy's clothes to wash in the water tray, space hoppers, bats and balls, large construction, a dancing area, a writing table, drawing on wallpaper, painting with water and some maths activities! It is great fun!
Seaside Pictures
We brought in some things that we found at the seaside and used them to make pictures. Have a look at all our super ideas!
Spring Walk
We have been outside looking for signs of Spring. It was great to have a look around our school and despite all the rain we've had there were lots of buds, some new leaves and even a flower to see!
Outdoor Play
This term we have had some planned activities outside during structured play. We had skittles with some of our 'important words' on them to knock down, a building site in the large sandpit and the community blocks to build with. It was great fun and lovely to get outside into the fresh air!
Our Construction Site Topic
During February and March our topic was the construction site. We have been learning about building sites, vehicles that work on building sites and talking about the best materials for building a house. Here are some photos of our structured play. We especially enjoyed the building site roleplay in the resource area where we got to dress up as builders!
Visit From Dogs' Trust
As part of our pets topic P1 had a visit today from Kathy and her dog, Gilly. She talked to us about how to keep a dog healthy and how to be safe around dogs. All the boys and girls who wanted to had a turn at stroking Gilly! Have a look at our photos!
